AllerEase® Rooms

Protects guests allergic to dust mites (25% of the population). These rooms feature specially woven hypoallergenic covers for pillows and mattresses that prevent dust mites from nesting inside. Daily operating costs about 10 cents.

  • Hypoallergenic bedding encasements prevent dust mites.
  • Use existing guest room bedding.
AllerEase® Plus HEPA Rooms

AllerEase® Plus HEPA Rooms also include HEPA air purifiers. These provide an enhanced wellness experience for guests. Total daily operating costs about 75 cents.

  • Certified HEPA air purifiers eliminate 99% of the microscopic airborne particles like dust, pet dander and mold spores.
  • This product also captures airborne bacteria and viruses like COVID-19.
AllerEase® Premium Rooms

AllerEase® Premium Rooms also feature a chlorine-removing shower filter that eliminates the chlorine added to municipal water supplies as a disinfectant. Daily operating costs about $1.00.

  • Guests will notice that their skin is less dry, and hair is easier to manage.
  • Showering in chlorine-free water contributes to an overall sense of well-being during a guest’s stay.

More than 25% of people in developed countries now suffer from allergy or asthma symptoms. The WHAI educates the hospitality industry about the prevalence of room allergens and their negative impact on the guest experience and hotel profitability. Our organization offers allergen education and staff training on how to reduce and eliminate room allergens. We provide strategies and training for hotels to leverage hypoallergenic rooms to increase RevPAR. The WHAI also promotes hotels that offer hypoallergenic rooms to travelers looking for those accommodations. Our mission is to make hypoallergenic rooms as common as smoke-free rooms by 2030.
